Barbara Powers aboard Redneck Woman
Barbara Powers has nearly fifty years experience with horses. As she would put it, she has been riding since she was in her mommas belly. Barbara has devoted the past twenty years on really expanding her knowledge, abilities, and talents with horses and it clearly shows. Barbara uses a universal training method with her horses that is correct, and advanced horsemanship any horse, or person could benefit by using. This method gets horses soft, broke in their bodies and creates a high level of trust and respect between horse and rider. Barbara uses many methods used by mentors and highly respected horse trainers such as Clinton Anderson, Chris Cox, Dennis Reis, Dena Kirkpartrick and Sherry Cervi. These natural and conventional techniques create a balanced training program that horses can learn easily with confidence and maintain a high level of performance.
Barbara trains, and shows horses. She has been very successful on a local, and national level as a money earner in MeBRA and NBHA barrel racing. Barbara has also been successful with her horses in team penning and ranch cattle sorting. She is a firm believer in keeping a horses mind sound by always giving them different jobs to do that they enjoy. Her horses have been nationally/world qualified and get noticed by many at shows. Barbara has also been very successful at matching clients with good horses, and has sold horses to people across the country where they have gone on to be very successful on their own circuits. People that have bought horses from Barbara would always want to buy another.
Barbara offers clients monthly training, which includes lessons at no additional charge. It is a belief of hers that she can train the horse, but what good is it if she does not help the client learn exactly what the next steps are in their horsemanship. In addition to high quality training Powers also offers clinics in horsemanship and barrel racing as well as lessons and coaching at shows. Once you're a customer of Barbara's you become a friend and a part of the family. Barbara goes above and beyond to offer as much support as possible to ensure that horse and rider go on to be happy and successful and constantly improve. She is located in Saco Maine and will travel for any opportunity to share her passion and talents to those who seek support and help.
Barbara feels blessed and honored to be noticed as a strong horseman and have the time and abilities to share that with others. There is nothing she is not willing to try and continues to learn and grow personally to achieve a high level of horsemanship. Anyone looking for help with their horse from the unbroke, green, problem horse, or seasoned show horse is encouraged to contact Barbara. She would be more than happy to discuss her program, techniques, and how to achieve your personal goals and ambitions for you and your animal.
